This easy to make calamansi juice will make your taste buds dance and your skin glow! Calamansi (also known as calamondin or Philippine lime) are small green to orange citrus fruit that look like tiny round limes but have a sweet and sour flavor. They are hard to describe, but if I had to, I would say they taste like a cross between a key lime and a mandarin orange. They are rich in vitamin C and antioxidants that can boost your immune system, detoxify your body, and improve your complexion. But most importantly, they are absolutely delicious!

INGREDIENTS:

- 1 Cup Calamansi Juice (Fresh Squeezed is best)
- 1 to 1 1/2 Cup Sugar
- 6 Cup Water
TO MAKE THIS EASY CALAMANSI JUICE:
1. Wash the calamansi and cut each in half. You’ll need about 40-50 depending on the size. Place a mesh strainer over a glass and squeeze the fruit until all the juice is removed.

2. Add water and sugar to taste. You can also use honey, agave nectar, or any other sweetener you like. The amount of water and sugar depends on how strong and sweet you want your juice to be. A good ratio is about 3 cups of water and half a cup of sugar for 20 calamansi fruit.

3. Stir well and serve over ice. You can also refrigerate the juice for later or freeze it into popsicles for a frozen treat.

THE STORY:
I was born in and spent my early childhood in the Philippines. One of my earliest memories is of drinking fresh calamansi juice served to me in a plastic bag with a straw sticking out of it. The juice was bright, mouth puckering, delicious! I’ve had an obsession with it ever since that moment! Fast forward a few years to my family and I living in Hawaii. You would often find me in the branches of our backyard calamansi tree, picking bowl fulls of the fruit to make my favorite juice. I have passed this love of calamansi onto my own children who now pick their own calamansi from our yard here in Florida!
